When we set out to do this The Nomadic Inscriptions Tattoo Studio of Choice Award was the first award that came to our minds. Obviously, we would need a couple for travel. Hence the Hostel of Choice and Restaurant of Choice Awards. Yet the Tattoo Studio of choice was the first one to slap us in the face.
Over all of our time travelling and both getting and looking into getting tattoos in different countries we noticed something. There are a lot of really nice tattoo studios, but there are also a lot of really nasty ones as well. The shop where I got my second tattoo ended up getting closed due to hepatitis. Then there was the super gross office building in Mongolia. It’s why we developed the tattoo studio rating system. So people don’t end up in the sketchy situations we have and probably will again.
Who is Eligible?
For now, eligibility is available for any tattoo studio. We were hesitant about making it available for more world-famous studios. Since we didn’t foresee actively searching out those world-famous studios we decided it would be ok.
Yet this award isn’t just for studios as we currently know them. Since we will be featuring a lot of very traditional styles and methods the definition of what constitutes a studio could differ. Especially when we start getting into the more remote parts of the world.
We also welcome nominations for studios around the globe from you. If you are interested in nominating a studio feel free to send an email to choiceawards@nomadicinscriptions.com with their location. That way a team member can organize them based on location. Then we have direct access to nominees when one of us is in that area.
Winner Announcements
The announcements of the winners for the previous year will be announced every March between the 15th and 31st. That means the winners of the 2021 Nomadic Inscriptions Tattoo Studio of Choice award will be announced in the next couple of weeks. So look forward to that coming out!
What’s Next?
We still have one award to announce tomorrow. It’s the one we have been most looking forward to, too! One more tattoo-related award to complement the one from yesterday. The award for tattoo artists. We are very much looking forward to sharing this award with you.
