We Stand With Ukraine

Picture by military journalist Tara Gren

Initially, we had a bunch of announcements planned for Nomadic Inscriptions this week. The invasion of Ukraine has changed that. We didn’t find it respectful, nor even reasonable, to move ahead with announcements when attention should be brought to the war in Ukraine. Not diverted in any way. Therefore our announcements will be delayed for at least a week as we stand with Ukraine.

What’s Happening?

It’s come to my attention that, at least in Canada, there is a lack of coverage of the situation in Ukraine. In the last few days Russia has invaded Ukraine after threatening a response that had never been seen before if Ukraine joined NATO or NATO got involved. They have since made the same threat to Finland and Sweden. What a fucked up way to say “you’re next”.

Now Russian forces are bearing down on Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. The president, Zelensky, has become target number one. Yet, he is staying to inspire and lead his people in their darkest time in modern history. Yet, the west refrains from doing more in avoidance of starting World War 3. We could and should be doing more.

What Can We Do?

We understand things look bleak, hopeless even. My heart breaks every minute. If your heart breaks as well and you are wondering if there is anything you can do there is. These charities are working to better the situation in Ukraine:

UNICEF:

UNICEF is working across eastern Ukraine to deliver life-saving programmes for children as well as deliver safe drinking water in areas heavily impacted by the conflict.

If none of these are in your wheelhouse more can be found here on Fortune.

I hope this situation moves your heart as much as it does ours.

We stand with Ukraine.
