The Reasoning and Goals Behind Nomadic Inscriptions

I have always believed life is too short not to see everything. So I wanted to write a post about what I really hope to do with this blog. I know now is a really hard time for anything travel-related due to Covid, but I wanted to get a head start making posts for when this is all over. A way to help everyone remember the upside to travelling in such a time that discourages all travel.

I wanted to take a moment to talk about the dreams (turned into goals) that made this blog a reality. Also, explain the reasoning behind the name Nomadic Inscriptions.

The Reasons and Goals behind the name.

I’ve always been super nomadic. After getting a taste of travel and moving I was never able to just stay in one spot. I’ve been all over the states, been to China, Mongolia, Bermuda, South Korea, Austria, The Czech Republic, Hungary, Canada (obviously) and now I’m in Germany. Therefore Nomadic was a no-brainer. It eventually became a major goal for me to go to every country in the world. Since I’m currently at 10/195 we are really starting this journey together. Even in those 10, there are a few I would love to go back to see more of.

The “Inscriptions” part of Nomadic Inscriptions took a bit longer to come up with. I was struggling to figure out what else I wanted to do with this blog. As an avid tattoo lover, I wanted to get tattoos from at least half of the places I visited. At first, it was any tattoo, but has since evolved into a tattoo that is culturally significant and specific to the country it’s from. I have a few already (some probably bigger than they should be! Oops.) that fit that criteria. However, any tattoo lover knows that once you get one, you really don’t want to stop. Not only did I want to be nomadically inscribed with these travel tattoos, but I wanted to share my advice and experience about them through these; My inscriptions.

Any tattoo lover knows that once you get one you really don’t want to stop.

That evolved even more as I continued to plan this all out. I realized that I want to build a community of the nomadically inscribed and nomadic inscribers here. A group of like-minded individuals that travelled either because they love to see the world or because they have not yet found a place that feels like home. So I want to build a community where people can go for advice, to meet up with other travellers, or just talk about the things they have done and want to do.

Last, but certainly not least as the community grows and our adventures grow with it; I want to be able to give back to the world. Whether that is working with charities to make the world a better place, perhaps creating our own charity as time goes on, or building houses, schools or other establishments in developing countries I want to help make the world a better place.

Those are the goals and dreams behind Nomadic Inscriptions. For now at least. As we grow our goals and dreams will probably grow with us. So who knows where this journey will take us, but I look forward to finding out together.

In Conclusion

  • Nomadically I would like to visit every country in the world. Sitting at 10/195 currently, we have a long way to go.
  • My inscriptions are not only these posts, but also the tattoos I want to get in at least half the countries I visit
  • I want to build a community for travellers to go do discuss all things travel in a welcoming and friendly place.
  • Giving back is important, and I want to help give back to that world and make it a better place for all of us.

I look forward to this journey you and I are taking together. As I always say, Life’s too short not to see everything.
