Sometimes All You Need is a Push

Life gets busy. We all get in our little ruts. Stuck in the monotony that is everyday life with no foreseeable way out. We play these little tapes in our heads that keep us from doing the things we want to do.

“I don’t have the time”, “I’m too weak”, I can’t do that”, “What if something happens to me?”, “I can’t go alone”, “I’m scared”, “Money is always an issue”, etc, etc. We allow this type of thing to play in our heads over and over, paralyzing us from doing the things we want to do.

Yet sometimes all you need is a push. If that is you let this be your push.

My Push

In early 2020 I was working in a hotel and hostel in Munich. It was a cheap factory hostel and a rundown hotel both owned by the same company. A place that I could never recommend anyone stay in due to a myriad of problems. It was my rut. I would go to work every night, work my night shift, eat breakfast/dinner there, go home and watch videos of things I wanted to do, then sleep until I had to get up to go to work.

I was miserable. So miserable that one morning I was eating breakfast in the cafeteria and just broke down in tears. I hated it. I hated my job, my life, and myself for what I had become. I didn’t want to live that way anymore. Sitting in that cold, dirty, beige room weeping and hating myself was the push that I needed.

So I picked a project back up that I had dropped a few times since starting in late 2017. I put myself into Nomadic Inscriptions because that was what I wanted to do. Then we were slapped with a pandemic. Even so, it allowed me to work on and build this community. So I worked my ass off on it. I wanted out of my rut so I dug my way out. I was going to make it happen even if it killed me because anything was better than where I was.

I Want to Push you.

So here I am. Trying to push you before you get to the point I was. I want you to be happy. I want you to pursue the things in life that you want to. Get out of your rut.

You are good enough.

You are capable.

You can do anything that you set your mind to.

So go! Get that tattoo you always wanted to. Go on that trip you have always desired to go on. Ask your boss for that promotion you know you deserve. Do that small thing that might just change your life forever.

You can do it. We believe in you.

Let us know that thing you have always wanted to do and if this was the push you needed down in the comments below.

Until next time travel authentically, travel nomadically,  and let the world leave its inscriptions on you as you do on it.
