After the last two weeks of several posts in a row, I decided that we needed a smaller post this week. The Nomadic Inscriptions Choice awards had a lot of work go into them so a break is very much needed. That’s why I wanted to detail our current travel plans for this year. As always, travel plans can change easily. However, for now, these are our 2022 travel plans.
First Half of the Year
Honestly, the first half of the year is a tad boring. Until now we haven’t really gone anywhere which is driving me crazy. My feet are itching and I feel the need to get out of here. Luckily we have some plans coming up. The only barrier is reapplying for my Austrian visa. Hopefully, it’s not as much a nightmare as the initial application last year was.
Coming up at the end of April we plan on going to Bratislava, Slovakia for a weekend with Lisa’s mother and sister. A weekend there is nowhere near long enough, but we are excited regardless.
As soon as the application for Austria is being processed I’ll be setting off on my own for a couple of months. I plan on heading back down to Croatia to experience a lot more than last time. This time instead of being based in Korcula I will be staying in Split at Hurricane Hostel. I think that being there will make it easier to hit a bunch of places on the mainland as well as some islands that I missed out on last year. I told the owner of the hostel that I would help plan some of the travel events for the hostel. So I shall be doing that until the end of June or July before heading back to Austria.
Second Half of the Year
When it comes to our 2022 travel plans the second half of the year is much more exciting. At least in my opinion. It starts in August when Lisa will be going somewhere for Scout camp. She knows where, I don’t, but it looks like she will be gone for about a week.
Then at the beginning of September things really kick off. We will be headed to Mexico City on the 3rd to meet up with a ton of other content creators for a retreat. We will be spending every day making awesome content with other creators. As well as learning as much as we can from each other.
Then on the 8th, we will be headed to Cancun for my grandfather’s birthday. I honestly cannot wait for this. I haven’t seen my grandparents in over four years and I miss them dearly. So until the 15th, we will be there exploring the area around Cancun and spending time with them.
Lisa has never been anywhere in America. So on the 15th, we are going to Dallas with my grandparents. They are living around there right now so we plan on spending time with them and some of my friends from there. We all want to give Lisa the real Dallas experience, barbeque and all.
From Dallas we plan to head back to Alberta on the 20th. Unfortunately, Lisa can only stay there with me for a few days. She has to get back to Austria while I have a bunch of loose ends to tie up in Alberta. That will keep me in Alberta for at least two to four weeks. Meaning that the earliest I will be back in Austria will be October 15th. I’m stoked to catch up with some of my old friends while there.
What’s After Canada?
As of right now, we don’t have any travel plans once we both get back to Austria. That can always change as we get closer. There have been talks of visiting Lisa’s aunt in Switzerland and a friend of ours in the Netherlands. Who knows? Our 2022 travel plans could easily change in an instant. The last few years have more than shown that.
This year will be a huge adventure for us. This is the first time we will be travelling to multiple cities in different countries together. I think it may actually be the first time we will be going on flights together. I’m excited to travel together since I’ve mostly travelled alone. It’ll be a challenge, but a challenge that we are excited to tackle together.
