So the last few weeks have been pretty heavy stuff. At least in my opinion. After all, mental health and ADHD can be fairly heavy topics. Even when adding in types of mental health tattoos to lighten the subject matter a bit. So this week, for our 100th post, I wanted to take a step back and talk about something light. Therefore, talking about our hopes and plans for 2023 seemed like an easy subject. Especially since we usually do it in the first week of the year, right after we look back on the previous year, like we did in 2022. So we are gonna talk about what 2023 has in store for us. Travel wise, tattoo wise, personally, and our potential plans for content. Let’s start with travel.
Travel Plans
Our travel plans are still kind of up in the air. The time I spent in Canada had a much harder hit on my finances than I originally expected. Canada has gotten even more expensive since I left so I’m still recovering from that.
However, Lisa and I do have a couple of set plans so far. We will be meeting up with my grandparents in Italy in the late spring. Something we are so excited about as I haven’t been to any of the places we are going and Lisa loves Italy.
Lisa has the Scout Jamboree this year, which means she will be going to South Korea. Initially, the plan was to have me go around the same time and see more of Korea than just Seoul. Now we aren’t so sure. If I go, it won’t be at the same time, but near the end of the camp, so we can have some experiences in Korea together.
We also have been talking about going from Korea to Mongolia to visit my friends in Ulaanbaatar. It’s been years since I last saw them, and it would be cool to go back to the place that truly started this journey.
Other than that, we haven’t talked much about anything. Some ideas have been thrown around, but the fall and winter are open for anything, but we will have to see when we get closer.
Tattoo Plans
If we have very little planned in terms of travel, then when it comes to tattoos we have even less. I don’t want to put Lisa through anything similar to the crazy experience I had when getting a tattoo in Mongolia.
Yet with going back to Korea I definitely want to get a Korean tattoo. I wasn’t able to last time I was there because I didn’t really know the situation around tattoos in Korea. So I am in contact with a couple people to get tattoos for myself and Lisa.
I have also been in contact with a very talented artist in Poland that I might have to go see later in the year. However, that will be decided much later in the year.
Personal Plans
Personally, I have a lot going on this year. My hopes and plans for 2023 are fairly significant. At least to me. I am continuing to work on a fairly big project that I can’t really talk about. I also wanted to expand into some other niches that aren’t travel or tattoo related and am in talks with some people to do so.
Another thing I’ve been working on is helping out some other people with their businesses in various ways. So far they seem to have a lot of potential, but to what extent they will flourish is yet to be seen. Lastly, I will be doing a lot of work on myself and my mental health this year. Those are the things that are just me. I know I am being sort of vague, but due to the situation, I kind of have to be.
Lisa hasn’t really communicated most of her personal plans or goals for this coming year. Honestly, I am not even sure she really knows. However, the Scout Jamboree is a big event for her and has taken up most of her free time.
In late 2022 she actually brought me into her Scout group as a leader. So we have been working on that together. There is a lot that we both feel needs to be done in that area and are working on it both separately and together.
Content Plans
One of the big plans can’t really be talked about as it pertains to some of the things I was vague about in my personal plans. However, there are a few things that I am more than happy to talk about.
As I mentioned before, I will be focusing on various mental health things in May for Mental Health Awareness Month. March will have last year’s winners of the Nomadic Inscriptions Choice Awards, as that will become an annual event. Other than that, I don’t really have plans for dedicated non-travel or tattoo topics.
However, I’ve been considering how I wanted to go about doing content releases. As I typically release four posts a month, I have been considering adding a bit of structure to that. So I am thinking of doing either three travel and one tattoo-related post, doing two of each, or two travel, one tattoo and one undesignated post of another type. Chances are I will switch between the three throughout the year and not specifically stick to just one.
I am also going to put a lot more work into stuff like printables and stuff for our email subscribers. Travel and tattoo Tuesdays have been lacking as of late, and I need to revisit and create a plan that includes that for our emailing list. I really want to make the emailing list be something that is providing significant value to those subscribed. Above and beyond what you get just on the site.
Lastly, I will be putting more focus on the social media platforms that I have seriously been slacking on. I’m still not a huge fan of Facebook, but both it and Instagram deserves more than what I’ve been giving it to date.
So yeah, those are our hopes and plans for 2023. At least for now. We will update you throughout the year; In June for sure. What are your plans?
Until next time, stay authentic, stay Nomadic, and let the world inscribe itself on you more than you inscribe yourself on it.
